Banri Tada enjoys his job as a waiter at the party, alongside Nana, Mitsuo, and Linda. Meanwhile, Kōko has sent Banri numerous messages and begins to worry that he hasn't responded. Some of the guests see Banri and Linda together and insist on taking a picture of them. The two get carried away and strike several provocative poses just as Kōko, who has come to look for Banri, arrives. Furious, she throws a drink in Banri's face and hits him. Linda tries to apologize, but Nana stops her, and Banri takes Kōko and leads her to the fitting room. Unable to talk for long since he is still at work, he gives her the key to his apartment and tells her to wait for him there. Kōko leaves, and Banri continues to work, but he is worried about their relationship. Once the party ends and they receive their paychecks, Banri tells Mitsuo that his salary might have lost its value. On the way home, Banri checks his phone and is shocked to discover that Kōko has been messaging him all day. He rushes home to a dark apartment and is relieved to find Kōko waiting for him. The two apologize to each other, and Kōko returns the picture of Banri and Linda, much to his surprise. He admits that they were classmates and that he had a crush on her. He then tells Kōko that his feelings for Linda sometimes resurface in moments of flashbacks. Kōko hugs him in response and says that all she wants is for Banri not to remember the past, and Banri understands, thus the couple reconciles. The next morning, Banri tells Linda that he wants to talk to her. By the river, he asks her if she loved the old Banri; she replies that she only considered him a friend. Banri then tries to tear the picture of them together, with the ghost of the old Banri looking at them and saying no. He puts the picture down, which Linda then picks up. Banri stands up and tells her to act like strangers, as he wants to sever ties with the past. Linda realizes that Kōko is bothered by her being part of his past life and says she understands and that they are doing what is right. She then tears the picture into pieces, surprising Banri. The next morning, Kōko and Banri take a picture together, creating new memories just for the two of them.
