Kalin's group is directed towards a deadly cliff, so West's father and Nico jump to switch the tracks to safety, and Sergio falls into the abyss in the process (and dies). Yusei manages to summon Drill Warrior from his grave, and Kalin strikes Lawton before he can react. Lawton then throws some dynamite that sends everyone flying, and Yusei and Kalin fall into a canyon. Lawton kidnaps Nico and West, and together with Barbara, he overturns Malcolm. While Yusei and Kalin visit their father's grave (Sergio), his duel disk reacts to Kalin, who decides to fight alongside Yusei.
